UnScene is a private film screening series from Gracefully Imagined Entertainment, showcasing South Asian filmmakers missing from the scene — until now. I was asked to design its logo and a pamphlet for the event. My client came in with two directions: a spotlight revealing the "Un," bringing overlooked stories into the light, or the name formed in the negative space of a film reel, clapperboard, or camera aperture, like stories emerging from the margins. She also uses yellow in her own personal logo, so I kept the palette to black, white, and a warm yellow that would complement it. I sketched through both ideas before narrowing down to three concepts, and the final turns the spotlight into a projector beam.
